Job Description

Our client, a software solutions company, seeks to engage a Sales Engineer / Pre-Sales Consultant with a background in Consumer Goods and the Consumer Packaged industries.

Mandatory Skills:

  • University degree in a related field.
  • 5 – 7 years experience in a comparable pre-sales position supporting the sales cycle in selling.
  • CRM, Retail Execution or business solutions.
  • Strong solution selling skills, ability to articulate the benefits of Cloud Computing, Retail Execution, SFA, Service & Support, Marketing and Mobile solutions.
  • Data modeling.
  • Ongoing and up to date knowledge on the latest industry developments, focusing on Consumer Goods and Consumer Packaged Goods: industry challenges, sales and marketing processes.
  • Excellent listener that can quickly identify a customer’s real business drivers.
  • Superior presentation and demonstration skills; self motivated, flexible, takes initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills in English with a focus on needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing techniques.

Education and/or Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Warehouse Management and / or Order Management systems; SQL Database software and Internet software.

Responsibilities:

  • Be engaged in the sales process in determining customer needs and plan solutions in order to address the business challenges.
  • Delivery of solutions through discovery sessions, presentations and workshops.
  • Evangelist of the company business value proposition through solution based applications and salefoce.com to key decision makers and senior leadership of businesses.
  • Work closely with business users in order to define, create and implement solution prototypes and pilot programs.
  • Monitoring of pilot programs through to the final product solution completion.
  • Subject Matter Expert on RFPs / RFIs delivering product, technical and security related responses.
  • Present a unified effort with the Product Development team in the creation / development of solutions to address market and business needs.
  • Develop sales plans to introduce new products / services offerings in new and existing markets.
